BOARD OF DIRECTORS

President & Executive Director: Elaine V. Mullin

Elaine is a 30-year Maine resident with the last 12 years spent on Munjoy Hill.  When finding her Munjoy Hill home, she realized she never wanted to leave, and found like-minded people to start planning for a future to support all who want to stay and age in place here.  Elaine is a recently retired registered nurse, who worked in-home and community care for the past 20+ years prior to retiring.

Vice President of Operations and Treasurer: Carol S. Colton

Carol and her husband moved to Portland 13 years ago and love everything about Portland and Maine.  She retired 7 years ago from a 30+ year career in insurance as a personal account manager, and loved the opportunity it gave her to interact with, and provide service to her clients.  After retiring, she was looking for a way to give back to the community, and was thrilled to join the steering committee to develop an initiative to help neighbors age safely and securely in their homes.   As a Board member, she spreads her passion for this program wherever she can.  Carol also serves on the Board of Directors of Back Cove Neighborhood Association and coordinates Shoveling for Seniors in Back Cove.

Secretary:  Bruce W. Dalbeck.

Bruce grew up in Maine and moved back here in 2000.  He is currently employed as a caregiver by a local home care company and by LL Bean seasonally.  In his previous career, he was a management consultant working on a variety of strategic initiatives, ranging from improving operations to helping start-ups get launched and grow.  Bruce believes community-wide support can help provide a more dignified, graceful, and safer way to age at home.  He wants to help Portland Area Villages become a key support for all of lus.  He resides in Back Cove with his wife and two cats.  Bruce loves being outdoors - sailing, kayaking, hiking, snowshoeing, gardening, or just exploring our beautiful State and region.

Directors:

Holly L. Lord.  Holly is a recently retired health care worker with a Masters in Community Counseling and a BS in Physical Therapy.  She lived in the West End for over 20 years and now resides on Stevens Avenue.  After working in many community health care settings such as home care, and in-patient rehabilitation, she is very aware of what it takes to be able to age in place.  Holly wants to make sure that the services needed to allow elders to stay and age in their homes are there for herself and others.

Regi H. Robnett, Phd, OTR/L, FAOTA.  Regi is a professor of Occupational Therapy and Associate Director of the Center for Excellence in Aging and Health at the University of New England in Portland.  She has many years of experience in gerontology and brings an understanding of the senior population that is a valuable asset to the Board.  Regi and her husband reside in Portland, Maine.
